Tax Rebate Scams – Know Who You Are Dealing With!

It is has been the news again recently that tax rebate scams are targeting people with spam emails claiming that you could be due a tax rebate.

Like all industries there is always a criminal element which will try and take advantage of the unsuspecting public, and the accountancy industry is unfortunately no different.

Before you apply for a tax rebate…

If you are looking to use a service to help you reclaim a tax rebate you should be careful which organisation you choose. Having a website does not mean that who you are dealing with is reputable and will provide you with the service that you deserve.

A service may claim to be the cheapest but does it provide you with what you need?

You should ask yourself if the company will give you good customer service? Does it have a contact telephone number? Is it regulated by a professional body?

If there is a problem with your claim, or you have not received your repayment, will you be able to contact someone that can help you?

You can report spam emails and texts to HMRC online.
