Tax Returns for Self-Employed Mechanics

If you are a self employed mechanic completing your self assessment tax return is a yearly task which needs to be done on time to avoid late penalties from HMRC.

It takes time, patience and, usually, headache tablets to get through it. Quite a bit of time spent on understanding what you need to do; even more finding the relevant information; and an unknowable number of minutes waiting in HMRC’s phone queue.

Even when you make the deadline, there’s still the possibility of being fined for making a mistake hanging over your head.

You can learn more about the tax return process and what expenses you can claim for in our self assessment tax return guide.
