Claiming tax back for UK Non Residents - Tax Facts

The timescale to make a PAYE tax rebate has changed over the past year or so. You used to be able to claim a tax rebate for the last six tax years. This has changed and a claim can now only be made for the previous four tax years.

If you are considering making a tax refund UK under PAYE claim the deadlines are important to know, to make sure you do not miss out on any repayment of tax that you may be entitled to. Some people have family or friends who have previously made a tax refund claim for the last six tax years and therefore assume this can still be done.

How Far Back Can You Claim For A PAYE Tax Rebate?

At the time of writing the current tax rebate timescales are listed below:

2008/09 Tax year – Deadline 5th April 2013

2009/10 Tax year – Deadline 5th April 2014

2010/11 Tax year – Deadline 5th April 2015

2011/12 Tax Year – Deadline 5th April 2016

Many people are owed tax for different reasons from previous tax years so adhering to the deadlines is a must to ensure you do not lose out! The deadline for the 2008-2009 tax year is upon us soon which means claiming for that tax year is something you should do sooner rather than later.
